Made a list of Popes with the last year of their pontificate. The ones in green are canonized saints (including soon to be St. Paul VI).
Some things to note:
We are about to have (with Paul VI) 4 Popes who died and were canonized within a 90 year stretch. That is as many popes as were canonized in the previous 1100 years.
The last time back to back popes were canonized was 1300 years ago.
John Paul I is currently a Servant of God. If he gets canonized, we’ll have 4 canonized popes in a row. That hasn’t happened in 1500 years.
