I just realised something. Apparently Phil is immortal and relives the same day for 10,000 years. And he sees the same people for that 10,000 years.

The people, his friends, the entire town, are trapped in his own personal hell. In order to free them, he has to free himself.

Everyone seems to have seen this movie except me! This commentary might just make me go watch it now.

Fantastic commentary! This is one of my all time favorite movies. Did you know that Ebert originally gave it a thumbs down? Later he reversed himself. https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/great-movie-groundhog-day-1993

I have seen this movie many times

Yes it’s a good movie, but the tone of sarcasm is definitely felt all through the movie the star (Bill Murray) is not a believer in any way what so ever

As this essay demonstrated, his actions changed. He learned to love.

Apparently he's a baptised Catholic who still occasionally attends the Traditional Latin Mass which is the mass he attended as a child and loved its beauty.

Pray for him 🙏

Didn’t know this

I agree

It’s still a good movie

Brings back many wonderful memories of my dear mother ( God rest her soul) She loved that movie and, like me, never tired of watching it “one more time”

We could almost recite every line by memory
